Swimming Event at Middlesex County College

SWIMMING AT MIDDLESEX COUNTY COLLEGE

We'll be running a swimming session on Saturday, April 1, for scouts who wish to earn swimming-related requirements for 2nd class (5b, 5c, 5d) and 1st class (6a, 6e).  This event will take place at the Middlesex County College pool in Edison (arrival time: NO LATER THAN 7:45 am. Meet inside the building lobby – do NOT proceed to the locker room until we are together as a group. We hope to be completed by 10:30 am). There is NO COST to attend this year. Sorry, this is not a ‘sibling event’.

We can work with up to 8 participants (not including “victims” or adults).  Older scouts needing these requirements will receive first preference if there is an overflow. Older scouts who have earned these requirements already are welcome to attend and act as “victims” in the water.

This may be the only opportunity this calendar year we can offer this session.  We are looking at other possible dates but can make no guarantees.

We MUST have adequate adult supervision. The college requires that for every two youth, we have one adult present at the pool in a bathing suit (don’t have to get wet, but must be in a suit).  Without adequate adult supervision, we will not be permitted to enter the pool area. Session leaders/instructors do not count in this equation

Along with older scouts, we also need adults willing to act as “victims” in the water in order for the scouts to complete some of their requirements.

PLEASE LET MICHELE FISHER KNOW (via e-mail at: mfishers1@aol.com  or in person) IF YOU (OR OTHER DESIGNATED ADULT) AND YOUR SCOUT WILL BE PARTICIPATING BY COMPLETING THIS PERMISSION SLIP BY THE 3/30 TROOP MEETING.

Thank you and please let us know if you have any questions.

2017 Swimming Coordinators:
Michele Fisher, Scoutmaster
John Kerekgyarto, Assistant Scoutmaster
Ricky Sudnick, Assistant Scoutmaster
Keith Spaventa, Committee Member
